Harvard Style Referencing in Microsoft Word
I am busy with my MBA research report and I am was looking forward to writing out the references within the bibliography so I thought that there must be a better way to do this … and there is! There is software out there that allows you to do this and 2 examples are: ‘EndNote’ and ‘RefWorks’ but I noticed that MS Word has a references tab so I decided to explore this option.
It turns out Microsoft Word 2007 allows you to setup and create a Bibliography automatically. Similar to the ‘Table of contents’ but way better.
In order to do this you use the built in functionality that comes with the software. However, the built in default styles that 2007 offers does not contain the ‘Harvard’ Style.
I’ve really searched the web high and low to get the right referencing styles database information and below find the setup procedures for adding the ‘Harvard’ style template to MS Word and then how to start using these features.
Download this file and unzip it. Unzip & place these XSL files in the right folder within ‘Program files’ on your PC and then restart MS Word.
“C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Bibliography\Style”
Then you can follow how to do the actual procedure here.
